La vida es silbar
”Life Is to Whistle” (La vida es silbar, 1998) is a fast-paced and absurd story about three citizens of Havana trying to find happiness in their lives. Marianna (Claudia Rojas), is a dancer, whose restless emotional life and love affairs are the sole barriers on her way to a successful career. Julia (Coralia Veloz), is a social worker who falls asleep every time she hears the word ‘sex’. Elpidio Valdés (Luis Alberto García), is a young man living in the moment, playing music and fishing, while trying to cope with his mother's demands. The storyteller, Bebé Pérez, speaks from a perfect state of happiness, perhaps the future. The movie was awarded at the Berlin film festival in 1999 and received the Goya Award in 2000 as the best Latin American movie.
